  1. admin cinta mati banget sama film ini ya

  2. Thanks a lot pahe for this! Please make open-matte too for Dune part 1 if there’s available

  3. For anyone wondering.

What is the difference between Oblivion (Theatrical) versus Oblivion (Open Matte) or any movie with Open Matte release?
Every director record their films in way more image than we ended up with, hence the editing process usually consist of cropping the films to focus on certain element.

Let’s say the Theatrical version as the default, and what is Open Matte version? it has more images in up and bottom of the screen but also a cropped (zoomed) a little bit of the Theatrical version. So it has more vertically (up & down) expanded images while also eliminating a little bit of the horizontal (left & right) images. It was intended for screening in IMAX (or to be exact a lie-MAX) and home media (i.e. TV).

But also annoyingly, Open Matte also mean just cropping the Theatrical widescreen version to zoom or fill in the 16:9 aspect ratio.

Not to be confused with or it kind of sounds like IMAX except it USUALLY was not shot in IMAX camera (digital or real film) and IMAX never does any of that. Just see it by yourself in movies made by Christopher Nolan who notoriously use real IMAX film camera like in Interstellar, Tenet,

  4. This encode was done using the “BLUEBIRD” version that was floating around for a while and is no longer available. And from what I know, yes this is the version that they used for the IMAX screening of the film which later was released for home media.

Claudio Miranda(Cinematographer for Oblivion) said “For IMAX we protected the 1:89 headroom and cropped the sides because we knew this would be an IMAX release. And for widescreen, we used the side and cropped top and bottom. It was spherical lens format for both”

With this release you won’t be seeing those tiny black bars that are present in some of the other Digital IMAX releases such as THE SUICIDE SQUAD (2021) and Guardians of the Galaxy.

  5. 1080p h265 please
