how much quality is sacrificed with the lower bitrate of the 10bit encode? why are recent 1080 encodes both x264 and x265 decreasing in size?
The amount of bitrate is vary depends on the content. If the movie was ‘soft’ it will be encoded with lower bitrate
right thanks, would do x264 or x265 be of better quality. also why not have the file size for a 10bit encode relatively high around what you would encode for a x264 encode, as if one had the capabilites to play 10bit h265 surely wouldn’t mind the greater file size.
Side note the HEAT (1995 REMASTERED) 1080 encode is broken at around 24mins, tried on multiple devices and media players gets stuck then skips few seconds.
the x265 encode must be lower size than x264. That’s our rules
