Can someone tell me what open-matte is? Should this be considered better viewing than IMAX UHD BluRay?

Well, it’s less crop compared to typical BlyRay AspectRatios.
Film editors crop, pan & scan original film-frames to capture & point audience to have rich experience in theaters without wasting fractions-of-seconds on extra details in scenes.

thanks admin. will you be doing the UHD that officialy released in September?
One of the best copies of this film is the release by bluebird. It’s a hybrid Blu-ray and open matte webrip. QXR encoded it from 30gb to 8gb. The results are simply incredible. Not sure how this stacks up but it’s just a webrip. The bitrate will be nowhere near that of a blu-ray.
Please redo this with ‘Tron.Legacy.2010.Open.Matte.PROPER.HDR-X.DV.HDR10+.DTS-HD.MA.7.1-TEKNO3D’
this source. This is the best one for 4k + full IMAX. I have seen this and its really nice.
Just make sure you use the TEKNO3D Proper one, coz they have done multiple one
