“OTES:
This is probably the first time I see Universum Films (GER release) doing a better job than Universal Studios (US release). I’ve seen a couple of very good releases from them recently… maybe they finally hired competent encoders.
PQ difference between US & GER isn’t striking, but it’s there and GER handles banding a little better. Strangely enough, studio intro logos are better debanded in US, so I took those and then main movie from GER. Needed to do this anyway in order to obtain US runtime and use its audio track.
Another thumbs up for GER is the lack of hardcoded subs.
I’ve OCR’d English sub, removed annoying SDH parts, merged a lot of lines that had no business being split and fixed most of the short timings. I also added the missing lines which were initially hardcoded, for a complete English sub. OCR’d English sub only for Chinese spoken parts has also been added as forced.
Runtime is identical to US so any subs synced to it will perfectly sync to this remux.”
Basically this release does not contain hardcoded subtitle and sightly better quality. Also… more quality options and fresh links.
