Notes: our biggest encode yet, huge but that’s the smallest size we can get with retaining natural grain structure.

  1. Hi, could you upload the movie in PROPER UHD 720p x264? Thanks.

    It’s Gone now

  3. Pahe team: the grain in this movie is particularly important of course. But 30 GB with the excuse of “natural grain structure” is nonsense. Hallowed encode is less than 20 GB and the grain is perfect. It also has Dolby Vision while yours doesn’t. That’s very important.

Another example: you encoded Schindler’s List, where the grain is critically important too. Well, guess what? Your own encode of Schindler’s List on this website is only 18.5 GB. For a 3h15 movie, whereas Saving Private Ryan is only 2h49.

To be consistent with Schindler’s List, this encode from you should be 18 GB max. Possibly even 16. And with DV, of course.

Pahe is supposed to be about quality/size ratio after all. Thank you.

    • this is encode from 2021, what do you expect? Things was different back then.

    • @Jose Hidalgo

As BHB mentions, those encodes were from 2021 and 2022, respectively

A LOT different back then is an understatement.

    • @BHB and @arrrcache , no problem. Things have changed a lot since 2021/2022, I’m just pointing out problems when they exist. I’m not criticizing Pahe team which remains my favorite team for 4K content.

I guess it’s really time for a new, better encode of this masterpiece. I’m sure Pahe team will take that into account. 🙂
