Have become almost impossible to move past this screen, there are no ad blockers enabled, there was no issue till yesterday.
@Admin Thank you! You honored my request from a few months back to do a new encode from the 4k restoration version as the source! Thank you! You might want to make a note in the post that the 1080p versions here were encoded from the 4k restoration version. People aren’t going to know why there are 2 separate posts for Perfect Blue when this one doesn’t mention this. The 4k restoration was released in 2025.
You even included the director’s commentary audio track. Unfortunately it is in Japanese and didn’t include the subtitle track for it. There are a bunch of subtitles but the one for this one is missing. Oh well. Thank you for this new encode!
The 4K master has some errors, particularly in a later sequence in the movie. It affects all 4K releases of the movie, as it’s in the master Japanese master provided for these versions. The Blu-ray releases aren’t affected, it’s particular only to the 4K release at this point. So, unfortunately, this version of Perfect Blue is not, uh, perfect.
