The litmus test for a prejudicial shift is this: If you reverse the situation will it offend those who campaign for equality? So if you turn an historical female character make or a black/Asian/Middle Eastern/Mediterranean character white would it offend those who campaign for equality in the same way? If the answer is “yes” then leave it be. You can’t have it all ways. Something is either prejudicial when equally applied or it is not. Reverse prejudice only serves to exacerbate and prolong resentment.
If you want a black Timelord write a story about one. When they wanted a story about a female Timelord they forgot they already had one. At the end of the Tenant tenure, aliens took the Doctor’s DNA in an attempt to clone him. Thus the Doctors Daughter came into being. The last we saw of her she clibed into a spaceship and flew off into space. Surely an opening to create a Torchwood-esque spin off to satisfy those clamouring for a female Doctor, Instead we got the start of the politically correct bastardisation of an historic and culturally important character. had that character begunlife as female or non caucasion the PC world would have lost it’s collective fucking minds.
And unless the nest Doctor is a Hijra from the Indian sub-continent then the BBC’s “equal opportunities” casting is bullshit,
