Because he’s equipped himself with so many skills like:

– film producer
– writer
– composer
– cinematographer
– film editor
– digital animator
– visual effects supervisor
With all those skills, no wonder James Cameron
entrusted him to direct Alita Battle Angel.

Point is he’s very creative & talented guy,
though he’s not in my Top 5 favorite director list,
but certainly he’s included in my
Top 20 favorite director list.
