If anyone wanna know the differences,
The International Cut of Gorgeous (1999) is approximately 20 minutes shorter than the Hong Kong Cut. This is due to a number of scenes being cut from the International Cut, including:
* **Subplots:** Some subplots, such as the story of Bu’s friend and her relationship with a gangster, are completely removed from the International Cut.
* **Character development:** Some scenes that develop the characters are also cut, such as a scene where Bu and her friend are talking about their hopes and dreams.
* **Action sequences:** Some of the action sequences are also shortened in the International Cut.
The cuts to the International Cut were made in an attempt to make the film more palatable for Western audiences. However, the cuts have also been criticized for making the film feel disjointed and for making the characters less well-developed.

For the Hong Kong cut. I tried 18 different subtitles downloaded from the internet (including both English and my first language) and none match. Even after adjusting both frame rate and timing start, they don’t match. Even the ones that say they are for the Hong Kong cut, really they’re for some different version because they clearly are missing lines. The mkv’s attached two English subtitles have problems, mistranslations aside (I don’t understand much of what is said but enough to know that some translations are wrong). But, the first attached English subtitle has constant graphical errors and is missing too much to be watchable.
Even worse is, the second attached subtitle is almost in the centre of the screen. This subtitle could be OK to watch if it was not so high up. Please admin, could it be possible if you would upload the second attached English subtitle somewhere as an SRT file to enable adjustment of placement and size? Because it’s impossible to concentrate watching when the subtitle is so high up. Who even thought of placing a subtitle that high or making it so huge?
I’m desperate. I grew up as a fan of Jackie Chan and became a fan of Shu Qi but somehow never saw this film or even knew about its existence. To not be able to watch it because of subtitle troubles, is frustrating. This website is a blessing with the vast selections of films, almost always with great attached English subtitles. So in this case, it’s a very unfortunate exception. Please!
use subtitle edit to OCR from attached subtitle and convert to regular SRT
