Thanks! The only copy I was able to find for years had the subs hardcoded, albeit still good quality. If you happen across two Claire Denis’ films: Bastards (Les Salauds) 2013 and Friday Night (Vendredi soir) 2002, please consider sharing. Those have been even harder to find.
There’s a few 720 & 1080 copies of Bastards on a number of torrent sites. All over 3gb, though.

Friday Night has only had a DVD release, so that’s the best quality available at the moment.
Torrent sites again have a few uploads, all from years ago though, and not with many seeders.
Check on the piratebay for one called “Vendredi Soir aka Friday Night 2002 DVDRip Sonata Premiere”
Another source is Rutracker (better quality video too). A Russian site which you have to sign up to to access the torrents.
Even though it’s all in Russian, it’s not too hard to sign-up and search (have Google translate open in another tab!).
Found this one on there, but you’ll have to source and test out English subs from subscene (or elsewhere) to see if it matches the video. Also, this copy has “fan” recorded Russian dub, as well as the original French. So you’d need to load it into something like MKVToolNix, remove the Russian dub, and add in the English subs.
A bit of hassle if you’re not used to doing it, though. So maybe the piratebay one would be a better option.
