“720p-x265-10bit” encode is sorely missed ☹️
Yeah, I don’t understand how decisions are made which contents get HEVC/1080p either (since I am going for 1080p and HEVC). It is easier to downscale a video or to reencode down to h264/xvid for crappy player hardware than to upscale.
If a (>15 years old) hardware can’t even play 720p, then h264 is the wrong codec, too.
I would appreciate to have both 1080p/HEVC/Surround and 720/h264/Stereo as the minimum available codecs here to address the needs of typical hardware.
