Well, well, well…
Look what we have here…
Now this is is what I call a super-duper coincidence.
You know what…
yesterday I’ve just finished re-watching
Reeves’ The Batman.
Although I wasn’t impressed at the theatre, still,
I was trying to figure out how that movie ended up making a hit.
Surely I drew some conclusions out of it
and one of them were:
“Thanks to Nolan who had been successfully paving the road for the realistic style of Batman movies.”
But that’s not my point. And here are my points:
About a year ago
I decided to upgrage my Brrip collection
from this gang:

Ron Howard -> Spielberg -> Scorsese ->
De palma -> Lucas -> Zemeckis -> Ford Coppola
And when it came to Brian De Palma’s movies
this movie was certainly in my top priority list.
Here the reasons why
(in accordance with The Batman movie)
In my opinion, Oswald Cobblepot/ Oz/ Penguin
would always be a mob boss
instead of Falconi’s right hand.
He is a businessman,
he’s running a night club as his legit business
and also smuggling drugs under the table.
He’s also a cold blooded killer.
That’s why this Al Capone character is perfectly fit
with a Penguin character.
Especially when Capone’s bashing the guy
from behind with a baseball bat
till his brain splattered all over the dining table.
Whoaa… now that’s how the real Penguin should be.
And also, you’ll find Kevin Costner’s character
pretty much similar with James Gordon character.
Especially when he’s leading a group
in bringing down Capone’s empire.
Not to mention when he’s sending her little daughter
(presumably Barbara Gordon) to bed
and praying together before she go to sleep.
So basically those kind of elements
what I was really expecting from Reeves’s Batman
especially in potraying Penguin character.
Overall this movie offers the best intepretation
of Penguin and young James Gordon character.
And for the additional,
Ennio Morricone did the soundtrack.
Big fan of his sentimental musics
and I’m collecting a lot of his O.S.T. such as:
